Who we are

This website is run by Silvermont Consulting Group, a sole proprietorship registered in India, which decides how the information described here is used. For anything on this page, email contact@silvermontconsulting.com.

What we collect, and why

Only what you type into one of the site’s three forms.

• Contact form (home page): your name and work email, plus your firm, the service you’re interested in and a message if you add them. We use them to reply to you.

• Work sample form (Equity Research and Project Finance work sample pages): your full name, work email and firm. We use them to unlock the download and to follow up on your inquiry.

• Newsletter (article pages): your work email. We use it to send research notes, no more than twice a month. Sign-ups exist only as emails in our mailbox and are kept nowhere else; to unsubscribe, email contact@silvermontconsulting.com and we will remove your address within 10 business days.

Every form also sends two spam checks: how long the page was open before you pressed the button, and a hidden field that people never see but automated software fills in. They are used to discard spam and are not kept.

Where it goes

The website itself stores nothing you submit. Each submission goes straight to Resend, an email delivery service based in the United States, which delivers it to us as an email at contact@silvermontconsulting.com. Resend keeps its own record of each message, in the United States, for 30 days; it sends this site’s messages from its data centre in Japan. Our mailbox is hosted by Google Workspace, and nothing in it is forwarded to any other service. Contact form and work sample submissions are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you and then deleted, newsletter sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe, and you can ask for earlier deletion at any time.

Cookies and browser storage

The public pages, downloads and forms on this site set no cookies. If you unlock a work sample, your browser remembers which downloads you unlocked, and when, so you can skip the form next time. That note stays in your browser and is never sent to us. It holds no name or email address, and clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it.

No analytics or tracking

The site runs no analytics, advertising or tracking code. Everything on it, fonts included, is served from this site.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts the site. To deliver pages and protect the site from attack, it processes your IP address and technical details of each request, such as the page asked for and your browser, and keeps logs for security and performance. It also counts how many forms each IP address submits in a minute, to block automated abuse. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy explains how it handles this data.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, at contact@silvermontconsulting.com.

India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and for visitors in the EU and UK the GDPR and UK GDPR, give you rights over your information. Between them, they let you see what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, withdraw any consent you have given, object to how we use it, and complain to your local data protection authority.

When how we handle information changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
